Well... The dog is done finally! http://circle.twu.net/animate/library_dog/lib_done.html

There's a few things I'm unhappy with, of course, but on the whole, it's quite a massive improvement over say, the The White Rabbit Magic Portal animation. Especially taking into account the creation time difference. White Rabbit: All told, almost a year of off and on work. Library Dog: 3 weeks with a whole lot of interruptions.

Of course, using ToonBoom to do Ink and Paint instead of Photoshop may be partly responsible for the massive improvement in performance, but the drawing came a lot easy too. I am still t3h suck for drawing. Maybe another 3 or 4 years and I'll have the hang of it.

On a different front, this is the first time I used ToonBoom to generate my final output. The two projects I'd done in it before, I outputted my ink and paint stuff to Flash and did the rest of the manipulation there. WHY WHY WHY WHY did I do this to myself?

Where Toon Boom's Ink and Paint is a little akward but still 2 or 3 times better than Flash's methods, Toon Boom's scene planning mode, motion paths, keyframing, etc is like a MILLION TIMES BETTER! Okay, I admit that Flash is fully pathetic in this field but still. ToonBoom's scene planning tools are _wonderful_ They're the most friendly and easy to use things I've ever used in any animation software ever. I am _definetely_ going to have to put them to more use. I really need to read through the more advanced tutorials and see what else it can do that I've been doing the hard way. I really can't believe how well ToonBoom works for it's price. It's just amazing!
