Generic Entry

I haven't been writing much lately, I suppose. Lots of odd interesting little bits to write about but nothing really coherent.

Work continues on as it has been. Still just almost but not quite out of IOC.

My tomato plant grew to 8 feet tall and is covered with small sticky hairs that trap insects. I'm convinced it is devouring them to make it's demon fruit. Also, the fruit it makes is flawless and golden... I mean I need to photo some of these type flawless and gold-coloured. Weird. It's like something out of Inuyasha.

On Sunday we biked to several stores and humorously loaded everything onto my bike. letsee. 20lbs of brown rice, a case of soda, a new garage door spring, 5lbs of tofu, a half gallon of teriyaki sauce, and a bunch of other stuff. Heehee. Stacey still had to struggle to keep up with me while we were riding. :) We at pho for lunch and snacked on mugwort mochi around sweet red bean paste, then I made korean style spicy tofu soup for dinner. Turned out very well. Must feed to [livejournal.com profile] paka some day.

Worked on some furry art. Not very exciting.

Could also be the difference between inking on paper and inking on bristol or using the #1 brush instead of the #2. Maybe some combination or mad cow disease. :)

Last night I went to the SFBC grotto meeting. Spelunking group. Exciting! I dunno why but caving really gets me excited. We're (hopefully) gonna go and do vertical practice in a couple of weeks. They were talking about a survey of a cave that you could easily spend a month exploring and not see all of it. They're planning a week long expedition inside this cave. (Too advanced for me right now because I'm so out of practice) but... Wow. I keep thinking about that and how incredible it'd be to sit there in the dark for a week with lots of time to meditate with no interruptions. Inkwash paintings by the light of a glowstick and writing, a thousand feet below the surface of the Earth.

Tonight I go to my animation group meeting. I hope they won't be too utterly stunned to learn that I haven't done any animation in the past month. I think I'll probably bicycle home from there. It's only about 7 or 8 miles and it's a comfortable ride. Besides, I've been bicycling everywhere lately and my short hop commute no longer feels like exercise.

Oddly, my weight is staying the same. I know I'm much more fit than I was a month ago and I've got some skin that's looser but my weight is unchanged. Dangit. I need it to go down another 5 lbs so my doctor says I'm 'healthy' instead of 'overweight'.

Oh yeah. School starts soon. Don't know if I'll be able to go or not. :/
I need to so I can submit Free as a Bird to the film festival thingy.

Heehee. De nada. it was fun playing with certain ideas and trying to make them all G-rated. ^_^ I may try to color it later in the week because it makes me giggle. :)

Muscle weighs 4 times as much as fat ... so the reason your weight is staying the same is, whatever fat you are losing is being replaced by muscle for the time being. The 'loose' skin is evidence of that. So don't look at the scale, unless it's one of the nifty ones that measures body fat percentage, because overall weight is not as important as body fat. After a while, the skin will tighten up, the muscle gain will slow as you reach a plateau, and your weight will go down as you continue to lose fat without adding more muscle mass. If your doctor is still using weight instead of body fat percentage to judge your health, then she/he needs a mental upgrade =P

The funny thing is, it happens to folks lifting weights, like yours truly. The first couple of weeks I got 'fatter' because the muscles pushed out all the stomach I had been sucking in ;)

Naw, she just uses it as a waggle to make us behave. If we're showing good excersize, riding bicycle, being outgoing... She doesn't say anything about our weight.

Our last visits with her went fine and she loved that Sammi got down into the lower weight and now with all this cycling...

...Our doctor is a competition cyclist as her hobby.

Oh. I know about the weight conversion thing and the doc is just sorta the obnoxious mother figure in my life. In general she dislikes computer geeks I think. I make it sound worse than it is.
