Tron 2: The Wrath of Tron
Dec. 17th, 2010 10:17 amWatched last night with Stacey. On the plus side, the theater was filled with glowsticks. On the negative side, the movie was not very engaging.
There were three films it could have been: The kickass action film, the breathtaking technology demo full of magic and wonder, or the total headtrip movie. It failed to be any of them and instead just kind of wandered around for a bit and then fizzled out.
I think the worst part for me was that the strongest feeling the film gave me was "Yeah... I've been to clubs." Many of the props left me with the strong sensation that I'd seen better done and more interesting props functioning in real time at Burning Man.
Speed Racer was much better eye candy. This movie had the feel of a book report a kid was forced to write about a book they were forced to read. It was utterly passionless.
