I can still count to 10

Oh sure it looks dangerous now but wait until the water pump is hooked up and we're throwing water through a 110v electrical appliance that has a diamond-tipped blade spinning at 6200RPM.
So anyhow... The back part just lets us move the saw head up and down. The two larger rails on the one board clamp the brick and slide on the platen which itself is guided between a pair of alignment rails and mounted on the bed.
I will be adding some long handles to the platten so my precious fingers go nowhere near the saw. I think I might also put a sheet of plastic on some springs just before the saw blade so that when it is cutting, whatever it is cutting pushes the door back but as soon as it moves out of the way, the door closes.
On the bright side, I fired it up for a test run last night and it slices through an inch of concrete like it's butter.
On the terrifying side: It slices through an inch of concrete like it's butter.
I am pretty certain that this is far and away THE most dangerous contraption I've ever built.
You can bet that even with barn doors installed, I will be operating this wearing heavy gloves, eye protection, and possibly a set of body armor.
Wish me luck!
