Such a Beautiful Day
May. 2nd, 2010 11:30 amSpent yesterday with Paka and Prickvixen We had breakfast at Ciao Bella, then decided we'd go down to the beach instead of hiking in the woods. On the way we ran across a large church community garage sale. Prickvixen found some nice vintage lab glass on the cheap and I found a router perfect for my needs that was $25 (vs the $150+ I was looking at for a new one) It's 1.75hp which is more than enough to do the wood working I want and is in great shape and was well cared for. The previous owner was a very nice older gentleman. So. Hurray and happy birthday. That means my cabinetry project, which I'd thought was on hold for a couple of months is now off hold and may be completed. :)
We parked a ways away from downtown Santa Cruz and hiked on the river levee down to the beach. Puttered around in the arcade a bit, then lounged about for a while just chatting, slacking, and hanging around. Then completed the circuit by hiking through town, stopping at the bookstore and then sitting a while at a quiet garden for a spot of tea.
Stacey and I made dinner for us, and Prickvixen had made me a really lovely cake with a crazy marbled interior color. She took photos of it. I hope she posts them. :) All in all, a wonderful day.
Now to prod Stacey out of bed so we can work on the garden and I can finish up my cabinets.
