Woot! PES films! http://www.eatpes.com

I first saw PES on a disc of animation titled 'New York Animators'. Great stuff and very fun.

Sulfi

I still haven't taken pictures of my cute little uro, but he's settling in okay and he's still adorable. ^_^ Decided to name him Sulfi because he has pretty sulphur-yellow spots.

He continues to surprise me with things I hadn't expected. He's much more flexible and agile than I'd expected; mostly because he uses his tail as a fifth leg.

When I bring him dandelions, he will actually stand up on his hind legs to get at them (It's really really really adorable to see a little lizard stand up on his hind legs and munch on a flower BTW); something I never would have expected since he's a low to the ground scuttling design. BUT wait! He can stand even higher. He can actually stand on his tail against a wall or something and reach almost twice as far as I'd expected.

Also, I'd read that he wouldn't need a tree because they aren't climbers. HA! Perhaps he's not the best tree climber, but he chimneys like nobody's business! Find him a narrow vertical place and he can run straight up a wall. He uses the horns on his tail like crampons, pushing it back against one side of the crevice and his claws on the other.

The only sorta sad thing it's still winter, so he's just barely awake when I get up for work and goes to sleep about an hour after I get home so I don't get to see him much. Maybe that's for the best though as he's getting a lot to time to himself to get settled in and feel secure.

At any rate, he's really cute and sweet. ^_^

What a lovely poll. http://hotlineblog.nationaljournal.com/archives/2007/02/usa_todaygallup_1.html

Well. Since it looks like 'legally elected' is right out for me, I should probably begin considering some kind of nonviolent unmilitarized take-over followed by a benevolent dictatorship.

This just makes me sad. Um okay asshats of america. How about we vote based on qualifications. Just an idea. Call me crazy.

I'm not done yet. That poll has me really fucking pissed off.

12% of americans wouldn't vote for a woman. Okay, that's better off than hispanics or mormons and no one even thought for a second this fucked up country would vote for a homosexual or an atheist, but you know, it's the 'women' one that really pisses me off.

Women are treated as a minority in this country, but you know what, we aren't. We're > 50%. We're the fucking majority here and we're still treated like dirt, and here's where it really starts to me. Racism, homophobia and theism tend to be strongest among people who've never met or had only very limited exposure to the groups they hate. They don't want to be near the people they hate, they want to see them all dead.

Not so for women. Every misogynist in the fucking world has met many many women. Parent, sibling, grandparent, teacher, classmate, something, and the vast majority of misogynists don't want to be as far away from women as possible. Far from it. They want us at their beck and call. they want to be around us, near us, in control of us, dominating us, telling us what to do. They want us to be their property, their playthings.

It's one thing to be feared and hated, but it's another thing all together to be seen as property. Not even as a fucking human being. You're something less. Something to be enjoyed, consumed, used.

Oh yeah, and let's not forget that more than HALF of all those other groups listed are women, and all this crap stacks. Vote for a black woman, or god forbid a lesbian? Not in a million years!

Fuck you America! FUCK YOU!

Oh yeah, and if you think men are so much more fit to run the world than women, take a GOOD look around. Men have had at least the last 2,000 years in command, and we still have war, famine, disease, racism, and sexism. Is it really that you think women could possibly do worse or isn't just that you're afraid that we might do better?
