Progress

Through Judges and into Ruth.

Looks like about halfway through Judges, God sacked the writers and hired someone a bit more competent. Stories are now almost coherent and even halfway interesting.

Samuel

So... In the first book of Samuel, the ark is taken and the people that take it start getting emerods in their secret places. Dictionary translates emerods as 'hemmeroids'. You guys still not believing me on this theory that the Ark is actually God's porta-john? :)

Cool

Okay, I think the coolest scene so far in the OT is where Solomon builds a new house for God (recorded in excruciating detail) and the take the ark into it, remove the staves from the rings, and open it.

Inside there are only two stone tablets but then the house fills with darkness, driving out all the priests.

Nothing else happens at this point. God just seems to be going through a goth phase.
