Slight Overkill
Jul. 25th, 2006 08:50 pmSo... I admit that in some things I'm a late adopter...
Believe it or not, I've never played Myst even though it's the sort of game I love. Back when it was fresh and new, I had no money, and to be honest, after that, it just kept slipping through the cracks on my list of things to do. I played 'The 7th Guest' and others and enjoyed them but enver Myst.
So I bought a Mac version of it at the used bookstore the other day for a whopping $2. If it were a Windows game, I'd be majorly skeptical it'd run on y machine, but hey, Macs are different, right?
Well. I admit I do have to run it on my tower, it only runs in classic mode, but it does run.
The specs? Um...
Requires
256 Color Mac...... I have 256M Video Ram, that's a Meg per color
2.5M of Ram........ I have 1.5G of RAM.
Sys-7 or better.... Okay, got me there. I have OS9. It's not better.
Quicktime 1.6...... Quicktime 7.
3M of disk space... Um... Will a terabyte do?
Oh... Also, I'm playing it on a 23" widescreen monitor... Crazy Mac doesn't even stretch it funny like windows would.
Anyhow, the manual was very clear that I shouldn't have any other apps running at the same time and really, I want to get lost in the experience, so I'm gonna stick to that. Bye. :)
