My new shuttlecock came in the mail today. I put it in and it fixed my machine! Yay!!! Actually, it more than fixed it. It used to be I could only go up to about a 5 spacing on the stitch and no more than 2/3 tightness at a moderate speed.

With the new shuttlecock, I was able to go tightness 100% and stitch spacing 1 and even peddling at top speed it didn't cut threads!!! That's just insane.

It's so insane that anyone who doesn't sew probably has no idea what I'm talking about. Photos for reference. :)

The black threads are with the old shuttle at spacing 5 and 6. You can see there's a break in the stitch and you can see how long the stitches are. The white thread is with the new shuttle. That isn't a thread laying on the cloth, that's a stitch through 2 layers of red cotton cloth. (I have never had a need to sew a stitch that tight BTW. I was just testing) So anyhow I'm majorly happy and my machine is now good to sew for another 114 years. :)

Also included for your amusement, a picture of my old cock, and the patent plate on my machine just because I was bored. :) If you look close, you can see a tiny hairline crack on the edge of the loop. That's what was broken.

Anyhow, yay! Now I can get back to sewing lacy underthings! ^_^
