Music Notes

So, I bought another guitar on Saturday. It's an old Oscar Schmidt classical guitar. It is a smaller body and therefore not quite as loud and deep as my fender but the wider neck and nylon strings seem to be a lot easier on my fingers to learn on and while a lot of things sound better on the Fender, some things sound better on this.

I've added E-minor to chords I can play now and I also learned to play my first arpeggio type song, "Prelude" (That's where you play on two strings at once)

Stacey also got motivated enough to climb up in the attic and bring down her old trumpet and keyboard so while she spent an hour or so cleaning and lubing the trumpet so it'd play, I fiddled with the keyboard. It's a very inexpensive late eighties yamaha. The sound is intensely 80s. I can't wait to put it to real use. >:) Though I think we'll probably mostly use it to generate a beat and then play sorta freestyle jazzish type stuff together. Should be fun if cacaphonous. :)

Tomorrow will be animation news. I swear. :)

Animation Update

As promised (not that anyone actually cares) end of weekend updatey thingy for my animation.
Charcoal coloring of 'Free as a Bird' is COMPLETE!!!!! There's probably another 6-8 hours of photography ahead of me and a lot more cleanup and compositing after that but it still feels like an achievement. I can't imagine there are a lot of people who've ever actually made over a thousand charcoal drawings, let alone in such a short space of time. I'll be lucky if I don't come down with black lung for it.

I'm a little more serious about the 10seconds club this month. I even put together an animatic... Parodying 'Charlotte's Web' with a soundbyte from 'Rocko's Modern Life'. Tomorrow I'm gonna go to the lab and punch some of the cells Murphy gave me then work the next sequence for Persimmon or see how far I can get on 10 seconds club.
