Upsetting

After listening to an article on the radio, morbid curiousity got the better of me.

That site is not for the faint of heart. :/ It's really upsetting. This isn't some 3rd world country and it isn't 200 years ago. It's us. Some of the people in these photos are still alive today. Is it any surprise that we see the pictures we're now seeing from Iraq given this? You can bet that none of these people were ever tried for their crimes. Entire towns would be locked up. The sheriffs, more often than not were a part of this. Before these people were hanged, they were beaten, humilated, dragged through brambles, urinated on, kicked, and defiled in every imaginable way. You realize the odds are pretty good that at least one of the children in one of these photos now sits in some major chair of government such as congress. There are probably dozens more that are judges, mayors, prison wardens, etc. I wonder what percentage of Bush's voterbase they comprise? what about their children and grandchildren? I bet it becomes a pretty significant chunk.

Anyone will some spare time feel like going through geneology.com and picking up all those young pictures that people have helpfully posted of their family members when they were younger and matching them with photos in these postcards. there's no statute of limitations on murder or conspiracy to comit murder, afterall.

Pete Knight, author of the California Defense of Marriage Act died today.

Much as I'd like to organize a group of people to go and dance on his grave, I realized what we really ought to do is start a campaign to send cards and flowers to the effect of, "In death, may you finally find the peace you never found in life, and may your God forgive you all the harm you have done others."

Bury him with pink cards and flowers. Show people like Fred Phelps that we are better than they are.
