Not to be outdone by

prickvixen 's reading of classic books, I too read what I'm sure is a great classic tonight. It's titled Nantan: Booru mata mata mata Now... Nantan is the name of the character the series is based on and 'Booru mata mata mata' is 'Ball! Wait wait wait!' That's right. I read the exciting story of a young cat boy and is errant ball! I read the whole thing by myself (with a lot of dictionary help) out loud, four times until I completely and totally understood and absorbed 'Booru mata mata mata'
I now know the kanji for the color red (aka) and tree (ki) by sight! Perhaps more important though, I KNOW WHERE THE BALL WENT! It bounced off Buta-san's head (buta==pig) It bounced off usagi-san's oshiri (Mr bunny's butt), it bounced near a tree full of balloons and down into a mouse's house and out the back door and up into the air and then it clobbered Fukuruu-kun (An owl) and knocked over a whole bin of other round objects but I FOUND that ball dangit! Mitsuse ta!!! MITSUSE TA!!! Nantan no akai booru o mitsuse ta!!!!
Woo hoo! With great struggle I was able to reade a book for a three year old! Do I totally rock or what? :)
