So... I didn't get the animation disc... I still think the guy is a butt. Someone remind me if I ever get nominated for some big award in animation that I should put a special dedication in it, snubbing the sniper and calling him a loser. :) Ya! That's it! Nothing motivates me to work like good old fashioned spite! :D

Anyhow. Umm. I consoled myself with a wild shopping spree! Er... Well. Is $4 a wild shopping spree? When we moved into this house, there was a bunch of stuff left in the garage. Some like 3' tall speakers (that I rewired and got to work) and a (actually pretty nice) chair, and a junky old 2 drawer filing cabinet.

Anyhow, last weekend, at the garage sale I mentioned, I bought a grocerybag full of brightly coloured hanging file folders for a couple dollars, thinking I'd put them in that filing cabinet...

Of course, after I got home, I discovered it was an OLD filing cabinet and didn't have the rail thingies for hanging folders 'n' felt really dumb... So today I decided I was going to build runners for it. Looked at the cold-roll metal to do it, then got cold feet and decided to go to another store and look at a new filing cabinet... Got distracted looking at folders and then just as I was about to go back for some plastic filing thingies. I noticed some metal 'freestanding' rail kits. ... There were nice onces that were $10 each and then there were some really cheap and wobbly ones that were $4... But I realized I could put them IN the drawers of the filing cabinet I had.

So with memories of Atama-Yama fresh in my head, I cleaned up the junky file cabinet, and built the rail thingies into it... How useful! I had to cut some of the length of the rails, so now I've got four little metal bars that I'm not sure what to do with but It'd be a shame to waste them. :) (Okay, I'm stopping before I sprout documents, or worse, bloom!) SAKU!!

Anyhow, I cleaned up the cabinet, put the rails in the drawers, sorted my animation into color-coded folders, and put it all away! So no more crinkled corners and last-minute digging! Everything is sorted and put away and it's really nice 'n' I'm happy and... Geez.. I must be getting really OLD to get HAPPY about a FILING CABINET. I think I'm going to throw myself into a lake on top of my head now. O_O

I'm so lame! I got a paid account so that I could have more than one picture. And now I can't even really decide what picture to use. :) Ohwell. I guess I'll go fiddle with all my old posts and fix the pictures because I'm just that kind of a nerd... Or avoiding the bunny still.

Just to share where I'm currently at, here's The White Rabbit animation. Be warned THIS IS A 800K GIF

The part where he pulls her into the portal is really bad (keep in mind,t his stuff will be merged with video, so I can hide that some, but not that much) anyhow, I'm redoing the 'pull' section tomorrow night. After that? Well... Here's the issues I see as needing attention.

  • Head turn and hand pulling away too fast after tail sprouts. I need to seperate all of these motions and also fix the jump-cut from the wide shot to her butt. I think it should look like this:
    • Tail grows, everything else still (Do as two layers instead of one as it is now to draw focus

    • Cut to her face as she goes from uncertain smile to startled

    • Close up of hands as she suddenly pulls hers away (background lighting effect fades)

    • Back to close of her face as she turns to look in disbelief.

    • Cut to tail shot

  • Bunny-boy's hair seems to pulsate rather than blow. Any idea how to fix this?

  • Need to add their bodies in the head shots.

  • Some longer holds

  • Make the nose/jaw changes more distinct

  • Slow down the ears, add a little follow-through on their growth so they bounce at the end

  • A closing shot of the two together, waving

.... And after that all I have to do is the video merging and all the effects... Well. Those parts are easy at least. I think if I can focus, I can get this done this weekend. I probably won't, but that's what I'll aim for. Any input any real animators would like to give me would be greatly appreciated. I'm muddling through this. *sigh*
