Perhaps it's only because my personal quest right now is also fingertip related but it occurred to me that you could probably make a wearable of this instead of a sub dermal. Mount the magnet in a silicone sleeve inside a finger cot such that the magnet is pressed as far under your fingernail as is comfortable.
Or perhaps some other sensitive area. A foreskin probe for men? I can imagine there'd be a lot of tech industry guys that would be all over the idea of waggling their penis at a computer to diagnose issues.
Perhaps a septum barbell piercing with one side north and the other side south. The lever action would probably magnify the sensation. You'd be able to 'smell' the currents and look like a hipster at the same time.
