Tangled
Oh yeah. Also while in Portland, we saw the latest Harry Potter and Tangled. I didn't really enjoy Potter. It wasn't bad per se. Just.. I dunno... Not really fun as a movie experience.
Tangled on the other hand, I actively disliked. As fluff, it's not so bad I suppose but... It was also somewhat triggering.
The witch sings this song titled "Mother Knows Best" which, for all the world sounds like a Liza Minnelli song. The song is about how she LOVES Rapnzel and the world is so bad and so evil and how Rapnzel is a bright-smart-strong-girl but the world would eat her alive and she needs to trust mommy. It's full of control and condescension and just really really REALLY hit a nerve. That's all the sort of crap my mother pulled.
So. No. Didn't enjoy it.
