I read SiaSL when I was in my early teens. Many of it's points fed my personal philosophy. Including my religious beliefs being very similar to what you recount.

Reading it again a few years ago, I too wanted to throw it against the wall.

RAH was talky writer, many of his later books were essays in the guise of fiction.
