pasithea: glowing girl (Default)

Everyone else is posting this sort of stuff so I guess I might as well too.

Physical Characteristics:
The typical DV is bipedal (except in the presence of alcohol) and stands erect at about 5'8" though they have been recorded as tall as 6'1" due to platform boots. DVs are highly adaptive in their appearance and may molt clothing several times in a day though they are almost always wearing something shiny, something jingly, or something glowy (or a combination of these affectations) In addition, at this time of year, DVs have short spikey hair on their head that is some mix of blue/purple/pink.

Social Structure and Temperament:
I'm going to try not to do anything at FC this year except be social. DV social behavior varies a lot, bouncing between total misanthrope and flirty extrovert. For the most part, DVs very huggy, bouncy, and a little flirty. They are also sort of giggly creatures and when nervous or excited. When excited, DVs will tend to laugh a lot and have a real hard time focusing on anything and the will probably chatter like a chipmunk.

DVs like to dance but are notoriously bad at it. Fortunately, they don't really care because it's fun anyhow. If you don't mind being partnered with a fool, just ask and you can probably entice a DV to dance with you with very little effort.

DVs also have a notoriously short attention span. Particularly for faces and names. If you've sighted a DV and it seems to be ignoring you, it's probably not angry, just a little dumb. Give it a gentle reminder such as placing your nametag on your forehead or just give her a good stiff poke. DVs rarely get angry at an individual or stay angry. They should generally not be taken very seriously.

Range and Habitat:
I don't have a room at the hotel this year because I'm broke so I don't know when all I'll be around but I'm definitely Thursday evening and should be there most of the day Friday/Saturday/Sunday and maybe Monday. DVs don't tend to sleep a lot so both day and night sightings are frequent.

During the day, they tend to range the lobby and panels with only a short visit to the dealers' room and art show.

At night, DVs can usually be found in room parties or on the dance floor. They often also like to sit somewhere and sketch but tend to prefer public spaces over the creators lounge.

Care and Feeding:
DVs are mostly self-sufficient when it comes to foraging. They bring ice chests and hide them in strategic locations for their later dining ease. Since they're broke this year, they really can't afford to go out to eat. DVs drink mostly alcoholwater and carbonated water but they can sometimes be persuaded to take alcohola coke or tea. The also like alcohol but will happily overindulge in said. Overindulgence in alcohol may result in stories you hope your parents, children, and pets never hear, so exercise caution.
