It's not just the pressure from corporations promoting the season of spending. Parents seem to relish laughing at kids swallowing the myth of Father Christmas hook, line and sinker. At least my mother found lying sufficiently abhorrent to explain to me that Santa Claus is a myth, much to the horror of my kindergarten cohorts. I was weened from the Children's God early. 8-)
