This weekend I did something I usually don't do a lot of. Watched TV. Short form: Blah.
Monsters Inc: Not quite as good as I remember it being in the theatre. It was really arted for wide-screen presentation and suffered at TV aspect.
Event Horizon: Definetely the stupidest thing I saw all weekend, and probably all year. It was 'Hellraiser in Space', and doubly annoying, because it was a waste of decent sci-fi sets and effects on a really lame horror movie.
Love Hina: Another japanese teen male romance fantasy. Better than Tenchi Muyo, but that isn't saying much. It was mindlessly enjoyable.
Battle Idols: Anime version of Gem. Guiltily pleasurable. *^^*
Emperors New Groove: Seen this one before, but it was good enough to stand a second viewing, even interspersed with Mike Eisner pretending he is Walt Disney... Actually that was just creepy. I mean like Isma in a thong bikini type creepy.
The Jetsons: Umm... Okay... I think of everything I watched this weekend, this left the best impression on me... And I don't even like the Jetsons. Still. The stylization of every detail in it was pretty darned nifty. Nothing in the show looks 'real'. Even shoes have little concentric rings sticking off them or jet thrusters or something. Pretty groovy.
All in all... TV stinks.
